About Jebeze Alexander

I am a web developer, programmer, and technical trainer. I teach courses on general computer usage, using the Internet, web design, and web programming for several organizations in New York City, including the Computer Instruction Center of the New School, Parsons School of Design, and United Digital Artists. I have also provided customized trainings for a number of corporate and non-profit clients. Feel free to contact me at jalexander@edc.org if you are interested in scheduling a customized course.

My day job is with the Center for Children and Technology (CCT) of the Education Development Center (EDC) where I have assisted in the development of a number of websites including the Lemelson Center, Smithsonian Institution´s "Whole Cloth", a web-based curriculum that integrates historical scholarship in the history of technology, active-learning strategies and projects for the classroom, and online teacher communication. Currently, I maintain the Library of Congress´ "American Memory Fellows Program", a website designed to facilitate online discussions and support a series of institutes to help schools make powerful educational use of the American Memory collections, digitized primary source documents in American history, and culture available on the web.

Through CCT, I also provide technical training for students, teachers, and administrators at schools and educational institutions. I have trained elementary and junior high school teachers in District 18 in Brooklyn in computer and Internet usage. I have also worked with high school students in the Union City New Jersey School District and helped them to learn web programming and design techniques through building websites for local community groups. Currently, I work with educators at Bank Street College and assist them in their exploration of the ways that the Internet can support instruction and discussions around pedagogy on the graduate level.
